Values

What does your clinic do to make the space welcoming and inclusive for LGBQ-identified patients?

My statement on our website notes my interest in GLBTQ care.

What does your clinic do to make the space welcoming and inclusive for trans- and genderqueer-identified patients?

We treat all patients with respect, ask what their preferred pronoun and name are, and try to avoid making assumptions about them. Sometimes we have LGBT oriented publications in the waiting area or exam rooms. We have PreP posters in the restrooms.

Please describe the ways in which you are involved in LGBTQ community outside of your practice (ex: Do you attend conferences on working with LGBTQ clients? Are you involved in local organizations that serve these communities? etc).

"I give talks at medical schools and medical conferences on such topics as taking a sexual health history, GLBT health, men's health, and cultural competency. I have attended a couple of GLMA conferences. I have been politically vocal within my local, state and national family medicine organizations on the subject of GLBT health. I have attended sessions on the topic throughout my career. I sing with the Seattle Men's chorus."

What else do you want potential patients to know about you or your clinic?

None. We charge a set monthly fee for patients who choose Qliance for their primary care. The exceptions are Coordinated Care/Apple Health, and employees whose employers pays for Qliance Direct Primary Care as a benefit. Additionally, I have a masters degree in counseling psychology. I am a past president of the Washington Academy of family physicians. My husband and I have raised our teenage son since birth.
